Meet Our Staff
Allyson joined the staff of Camp Hopewell in January 2001 as the Program Director and became the Director in September 2012. She works alongside her husband, Darren, and their 2 daughters, Brynn and Gracyn, and the family resides at camp. Allyson has a degree from the University of Memphis in Sociology, and serves in various ways for the Presbyterian Church Camp and Conference Association (PCCCA) and the American Camp Association (ACA). She is an Elder in the PC(USA) and is currently pursuing her Certificate in Spiritual Formation from Columbia Seminary. In her free time, you will find her walking her dogs through the woods, watching sports, reading in her hammock, dancing to 80's music or spending time with her large family.
Darren has served as the Site Director/Challenge Course Manager for camp since moving here in 2001 with his family. Living onsite, he oversees all of the facilities at camp, which he does with great love and enjoyment. Darren attended the University of Memphis where he studied business. He is an Elder in the PC(USA) and is involved with committee work at the church. He has received extensive training in Challenge Course Management and currently holds a Level 2 Certification, which allows him to train on and construct the course here at Hopewell. When you don't see him outside working or riding on the gator, you will probably find him in his woodshop, making outdoor furniture for camp and listening to the music of YES.

Each Summer, Hopewell hires counselors, program and support staff to care for the needs of the campers during their week at camp.
