Summer 2022 Descriptions

Campers enjoy canoeing, swimming, arts and crafts, games of all kinds, nature study, hiking, Bible study, and worship. Hopewell is the place to make lifelong friendships while growing in faith and enjoying the awe and wonder of all of God's creation.  Come and see the exciting camp schedule we have planned for this summer.

Day Camp

Whether you want a taste of camp or just another opportunity to be a part of the Hopewell summer experience, this is your  chance! 

 

Tuesday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm provides lots of time for playing games, swimming, canoeing, hiking, archery, arts and crafts, Bible Study, and so much more. Campers will go home each evening and return to camp the following morning for a new and exciting day. *Lunch and a healthy snack will be provided daily. 

Wee Bit Camps
July 5-7

Wee Bit Camp is a short 3-day experience designed for first time campers. While at Hopewell, Wee Bit campers will enjoy swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts, nature studies, games and loads of fun! This confidence building session is the perfect beginning for a long-term Hopewell camper.

Discovery Camp provides an exciting week of fun for younger campers that introduces them to the 'all-around' camp experience. Campers stay for a full week and enjoy camp activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, canoeing, archery, Bible Study, cooking out, nature study, hiking, dancing, games and more!

Come experience all the excitement that Hopewell has to offer at any one of our three explorer camp sessions! Campers will spend the week making new friends and trying new things. Archery, arts & crafts, team building, high challenge, zip line, bible study, canoeing & kayaking, AND SO MUCH MORE! Lots of fun and growth await your camper! 

Adventure  Camp

Whether you're a longtime camper or joining us for the first time, adventure camp is a great opportunity for your teen to form new relationships, have lots of fun, and learn about God out in nature! Experience what Hopewell has to offer including bible study, canoeing & kayaking, team building, high challenge, zip line, swimming, and more!

Adventures in Whitewater Rafting  
June 12-17

If you're looking for high adventure, rafting is for you! This exciting session starts with Sunday and Monday at Hopewell for group building and some basic water sport. Tuesday, campers will head to offsite lodging at the Nantahala Outdoor Center in Bryson City, NC. Campers will take a personal inflatable raft ride on the Nantahala on Wednesday. Then, Thursday morning, they will white water raft on the middle Ocoee. Campers will head back to Hopewell that evening to finish off the week with some more adventures at camp!

Night Owl PLUS 

Adventure & Explorer

SEVEN FULL DAYS of Night Owl Camp! This popular session is BACK following a successful debut in 2021!

 

More Night Owl = More Fun! Just like the Night Owl you know and love, we will toss the regular camp schedule in the trash, as we stay up late, eat meals later, snack late and play late. Evening activities will include campfires, night hikes, worship, camping, glow-in-the-dark games and more. To complete our time together we will have an exciting late night dance RAVE on Thursday evening. Woo Hoo!

Adventures in Leadership

Are you ready to lead? Do you want to make new friends, acquire new skills, and learn more about yourself and others? Campers will have the opportunity to practice leadership skills during their week as a leadership camper, by leading bible study, participating in a service project, and leading games for some of our younger campers. This session provides opportunities for some self exploration, while still enjoying all of the fun of camp! Join us for this fun and rewarding experience!!

Diabetes Leadership
June 26-July 1
16 years of age

Are you ready to lead? Do you want to make new friends, acquire new skills, and learn more about yourself and others? Campers will have the opportunity to practice leadership skills during their week as a leadership camper, by leading bible study, participating in a service project, and leading games for some of our younger campers. Type 1 Diabetes Camp
June 26-July 1
10-15 years of age

Children and Youth with Type 1 Diabetes can enjoy all of the fun of summer camp while learning more about living with diabetes. One of the great things for the camper is that living with diabetes is the norm for the week, so everyone counts carbs, checks blood sugars, and tries to balance food, insulin, exercise, and loads of fun. Campers are encouraged to develop age appropriate responsibilities for maintaining their diabetes.

Diabetes Wee Bit
July 5-7
6-9 years of age

Children with Type 1 Diabetes can enjoy all of the fun of camp during this shorter, "beginners" session for our younger campers. Campers will participate in activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, fun games, nature study, canoeing and more during this 2 night/3 day medically staffed session.
